Reading 2

And it came to be in those days, Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan. And immediately, coming up from the water, he saw the heavens being parted, and the Spirit as a dove descending upon him. And a voice came from the heavens: “Thou art my beloved Son; in whom I was well pleased.” And immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness. And he was there in the wilderness forty days, being tempted by Satan; and he was with the beasts, and the angels were ministering to him. And after the handing over of John, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying: “The time hath been fulfilled, and the kingdom of God hath drawn near; repent ye, and believe in the Gospel.”
