Reading 6

And early in the night, being yet very dark, having arisen, he went out and went into a deserted place, and there he was praying. And Simon and those who were with him pursued him. And having found him, they said to him: “All are seeking thee.” And he saith to them: “Let us go into the nearby villages and towns, that there also I may preach, for this did I come forth.” And he was preaching in their synagogues throughout all Galilee, and was casting out demons. And there cometh to him a leper, beseeching him, and falling on his knees before him, and saying to him: “If thou wilt, thou art able to cleanse me.” And Jesus, having had compassion, stretched forth his hand, touched him, and saith to him: “I will; be thou cleansed.” And when he had spoken, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was cleansed. And having strictly charged him, immediately he sent him away. And he saith to him: “See that thou say nothing to anyone; but having gone, show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing that which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.” But he, having gone out, began to preach much and to spread the word, so that he was no longer able openly to enter into a city, but was outside in deserted places, and they were coming to him from everywhere.
