Psalms at the Liturgy. (Obednitsa)
Psalm 102. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: who cleanseth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy infirmities, who redeemeth thy life from corruption, who crowneth thee with mercy and tender compassions, who fulfilleth thy desire with good things, that thy youth be renewed like the eagle’s. The Lord executeth mercy and judgment for all that are oppressed. He made known his ways unto Moses, his desires unto the sons of Israel. The Lord is bountiful and merciful, long-suffering and abounding in mercy. He will not be angry unto the end, neither will he bear enmity forever. He hath not dealt with us after our iniquities, nor rewarded us according to our sins. For as the height of heaven is from the earth, so hath the Lord established his mercy upon them that fear him. As far as the east is from the west, so far hath he removed our iniquities from us. As a father pitieth his sons, so the Lord will have compassion upon them that fear him. For he knoweth our making; he remembereth that we are dust. Man is as grass, his days are as the flower of the field; so shall he fade away. For the wind passeth over it, and it is not, and the place thereof knoweth it no more. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him. And his righteousness is upon the sons of sons, even upon them that keep his covenant and remember his commandments to do them. The Lord hath prepared his throne in the heavens, and his kingdom ruleth over all. Bless the Lord, all ye his angels, mighty in strength that do his word, hearkening unto the voice of his words. Bless the Lord, all ye his hosts, ministers of his that do his will. Bless the Lord, all ye his works, in every place of his dominion; bless the Lord, O my soul.
Psalm 145. Praise the Lord, O my soul; I will praise the Lord in my life, I will sing unto my God while I have my being. Put not your trust in princes, nor in the sons of men, in whom there is no salvation. His spirit shall go forth, and he shall return unto his earth; in that very day all his thoughts perish. Blessed is he whose helper is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God, who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is therein. who keepeth truth forever, who executeth judgment for the oppressed, who giveth food unto the hungry. The Lord looseth the prisoners. The Lord maketh wise the blind. The Lord raiseth up them that are cast down. The Lord loveth the righteous. The Lord preserveth the stranger; he receiveth the fatherless and widow, but the way of the sinners he shall destroy. The Lord shall reign forever; thy God, O Sion, unto generation and generation.
Glory. Now and ever.
Choir: O only-begotten Son and Word of God, who art immortal, who for our salvation didst deign to become incarnate from the holy God-bearer and Ever-Virgin Mary, unchangeably made man, who wast crucified, O Christ God, and by death didst trample down death, who alone art of the holy Trinity, glorified together with the Father and the Holy Ghost, save us.
At the end of the singing, the Canonarch proclaims the Beatitudes, according to the ustav.
When thou comest into thy kingdom, remember us, O Lord. Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the sons of God. Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in the heavens.
Glory. Now and ever.
Then, the Apostol and Gospel are read for the day. After the readings:
Remember us, O Lord, when thou comest in thy kingdom. Remember us, O Master, when thou shalt comest in thy kingdom. Remember us, O Holy One, when thou shalt comest in thy kingdom. The heavenly choir singeth thee and saith: Holy, holy, holy, Lord Sabaoth; heaven and earth are full of thy glory. Draw near unto him and be enlightened, and your faces shall not be ashamed. The heavenly choir singeth thee and saith: Holy, holy, holy, Lord Sabaoth; heaven and earth are full of thy glory. Glory. The choir of the holy angels and archangels, together with all the heavenly powers, singeth thee and saith: Holy, holy, holy, Lord Sabaoth; heaven and earth are full of thy glory. Now and ever.
The Confession of the Orthodox Faith. The First Council. I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all the visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the only-begotten, who from the Father is begotten before all ages. Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, but not created, of one essence with the Father; by him all things came to be. For us men and for our salvation he came down from the heavens, and was made flesh of the Holy Ghost and of the Virgin Mary became man. Who was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, suffered, and was buried. And resurrected on the third day according to the Scriptures. And ascended into the heavens, and sitteth at the right hand of the Father. And is coming again with glory to judge the living and the dead; whose kingdom has no end.
From the Second Council. And in the Holy Ghost, the Lord, True and Life-giving, who proceedeth from the Father, who with the Father and the Son art worshipped and glorified, who spake the prophets. And in one holy, conciliar, and apostolic Church. I confess one Baptism unto remission of sins. I await the resurrection for the dead. And of the life of the age to come. Amen.
Remit, forgive, release, O God, our sins, voluntary and involuntary, those in word and deed, and those in knowledge and ignorance, and those in mind and thought, those by day and by night: forgive them all unto me, as thou art good and the lover of mankind.
Our Father, who art in the heavens, may thy name be hallowed, let thy kingdom come, let thy will be done, as in heaven so on earth. Give us this day our needful bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Then say the kondaki, first for the temple, then for the day, then for the saint.
Glory. With the saints give rest, O Christ, unto the souls of Thy servants, where there is neither pain, nor sorrow, nor sighing, but life everlasting.
Now and ever. O unashamed Intercessor of Christians, O unwavering Mediatrix to the Creator, despise not the voices of sinners’ prayers, but come before, as thou art good, unto our help, unto us who faithfully cry unto thee; make haste unto prayer, and hurry unto supplication, ever protecting, O God-bearer, them that honour thee.
If it is Great Lent.
Lord have mercy. (40 times) Glory. Now and ever.
More honourable than the Cherubim, and truly more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption, having borne God the Word; who art the God-bearer, thee do we magnify.
In the name of the Lord, bless.

Elder: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us. (Bow)
Reader: Amen.
Lord have mercy. (12 times)
O All-holy, consubstantial Trinity, uncontainable Dominion and indivisible Kingdom, which art the cause of all good things, vouchsafe in this present hour concerning me the sinner, and wash away from me all defilements, and enlighten my mind, that I may ever sing praises unto thee, and glorify thee, and say: One is Holy, one is the Lord Jesus Christ, unto the glory of God the Father. Amen.
Let the name of the Lord be blessed from now and forever. (Thrice with bows) Glory. Now and ever.
Psalm 33. I will bless the Lord at all times; his praise shall be continually in my mouth. In the Lord shall my soul boast; let the meek hear and be glad. Magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my tribulations. Draw near unto him, and be enlightened, and your faces shall not be ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his tribulations. The angel of the Lord shall encamp round about them that fear him, and shall deliver them. Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man that hopeth in him. Fear the Lord, all ye his saints, for there is no want to them that fear him. The rich have become poor and gone hungry, but they that seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing. Come, children, hearken unto me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is the man that desireth life, loving to see good days? Restrain thy tongue from evil, and thy lips that they speak no guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against them that do evil, to destroy out of the earth the remembrance of them. The righteous cried, and the Lord heard them, and delivered them out of all their troubles. Near is the Lord unto them that are broken in heart, and the humble in spirit will he save. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, and out of them all will the Lord deliver them. The Lord keepeth all their bones, and not one of them shall be broken. Grievous is the death of sinners, and they that hate the righteous shall offend. The Lord will deliver the souls of his servants, and all they that hope in him shall not offend.
It is truly meet to bless thee, O God-bearer, ever blessed and most unblemished, and the mother of our God. More honourable than the Cherubim, and truly more glorious than the Seraphim, without corruption, having borne God the Word; who art the God-bearer, thee do we magnify. (Prostration)
Glory. Now and ever. Lord have mercy, Lord have mercy, Lord, bless.
Then, the elder reads the dismissal of the day.
